- Lunch near the first stop：The route builds in about an hour for lunch right after Naka-Ikebukuro Park. There is no shortage of places to eat in this area.
- A mid-afternoon shopping start works fine：Animate, Yuzawaya and the other big shops open in the morning, but a mid-afternoon start helps you dodge the busiest hours. Opening times change, so check the official sites before you go.
- Short on time? Do the first three：Naka-Ikebukuro Park, the Spanish Steps and Higashi-Ikebukuro Central Park all sit within a ten-minute walk of each other and take under an hour together.

These are the places to work through in the two hours the route sets aside at the end. All are within walking distance of Ikebukuro Station’s east side and overlap with the locations themselves. Hours and stock change, so check each shop’s official site before you go.
- Animate Ikebukuro Main StoreOn Sunshine 60-dori, directly across from Naka-Ikebukuro Park. One of the largest selections of new anime merchandise in Japan, with frequent fairs and collaboration displays. Start here for currently airing or recent titles.
- Otome Road (Higashi-Ikebukuro 3-chome)The street on the west side of Sunshine City, lined with secondhand and resale shops such as the K-BOOKS buildings and Lashinbang Ikebukuro. For series that aired years ago, like Durarara!!, this is where the goods actually are. Most shops open between 11:00 and 12:00.
- Sunshine City (Alpa)The shopping complex housing Pokemon Center MEGA Tokyo and other character-goods stores. It connects directly with the Spanish Steps and Higashi-Ikebukuro Central Park stops.
- Yuzawaya WACCA IkebukuroThe place for cosplay fabric and craft supplies, a short walk from Naka-Ikebukuro Park, and a location in My Dress-Up Darling.
Two more shops for fans of the series
Yuzawaya WACCA Ikebukuro (1-8-1 Higashi-Ikebukuro, WACCA Ikebukuro 3F, 10:00-21:00) appears in the story as the shop where they buy costume fabric. It is a short walk from Naka-Ikebukuro Park, and the sheer volume of fabric and craft supplies is worth seeing even if you do not cosplay.
Swallowtail Ikebukuro (3-12-5 Higashi-Ikebukuro, Kato Daiichi Building 4F, 11:00-20:00) is the cosplay wig specialist that appears in the story by name, stocking around 200 wig colours. It is near Sunshine City, so it fits naturally after the Spanish Steps and Higashi-Ikebukuro Central Park. Hours and stock change, so check the shop’s website or X account before heading over.

Most of the spots listed are shops, commercial facilities or public parks that plenty of other people are using. Please be considerate of customers, staff and local residents. Naka-Ikebukuro Park and Higashi-Ikebukuro Central Park are part of daily life for people nearby and sometimes host cosplay events; if event rules are posted, follow them. Bikkuri Gado carries heavy traffic, so do not step into the road to take photos. Sunshine City and individual shops have their own photography rules. Business hours, store layouts and streetscapes may change over time, so details here may differ from what you find on site.
